(C) Per reftel request, Poloff met with Alexander Nalbandov,
Director of the Department of International Organizations at
the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Nalbandov said
that Georgia fully supports the U.S. position on Belarus'
candidacy and will not vote for them in the May 17 elections
to the UN Human Rights Council (HRC). Nalbandov also said
that Georgia would support Denmark and Italy for the Western
European seats on the HRC. Nalbandov added that the GoG has
decided to submit itself as a candidate for a seat on the HRC
for the 2011-2014 term.
