1. Embassy Sofia appreciates Department's decision to include
Bulgaria on the list of priority countries to be invited to WIREC
2008 (ref A). As reported in Ref B, official invitations should be
sent to: Mr. Ivailo Kalfin, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Petar
Dimitrov, Minister of Economy and Energy; and Mr. Dzhevdet Chakarov,
Minister of Environment and Water. Once official invitations are
received, the GOB will determine the composition of its official
delegation to WIREC 2008.
2. Bulgarian NGOs that will have a strong interest in WIREC 2008
are the Association of Producers of Ecological Energy and the
Association for High-technology Energy Systems.
3. Embassy Sofia point of contact for WIREC 2008 is post Economic
Officer Kelly Adams-Smith, adamssmithke@state.gov.
