(U) Poloff delivered reftel points on the Global Initiative
to Combat Nuclear Terrorism to MFA State
Counselor for Multilateral Relations Svetlana Geleva on March
16. Geleva welcomed the information and said the GOM will
endorse the Statement of Principles and looks forward to
participating in the initiative. Geleva informed Poloff that
the Russian Federation had presented these points to the MFA
earlier and that she had given the Russian Federation the
same response. Prior to delivering the demarche, Poloff
contacted the Russian Federation Embassy to coordinate
presentation of the reftel points. The Russian Federation
Embassy informed Poloff that they had already delivered
reftel points but did not provide information on the
Macedonian response.
