SUBJECT: DOMINICAN FUGITIVE RAUDO MUNOZ EXTRADITED TO THE
U.S.

REF: 2006 STATE 124469

1. On January 31, 2007, U.S. Marshals returned Raudo Munoz to
the State of New Jersey for sentencing in a case arising out
of indictment number 02-05-0680-I, filed May 23, 2002. On
June 9, 2003, Munoz plead guilty to attempted murder (count
two of the indictment) and was allowed to remain free on bail
until the date of his sentencing, scheduled for October 17,

2003. Raudo Munoz failed to appear for sentencing and at
that time a warrant for his arrest was issued.

2. Following the October 26, 2006, issuance of a Dominican
arrest warrant based on a September 5, 2006, submission of a
U.S. Government request for extradition, Munoz was
apprehended January 17, 2007, by officers of the Dominican
National Directorate for Drug Control's Fugitive Unit (DNCD).
Munoz made a knowing, voluntary, and intelligent waiver of
his right to challenge the extradition before the Criminal
Chamber of the Dominican Supreme Court. His extradition was
properly confirmed by presidential decree.

3. The return of Raudo Munoz marks the 3rd Dominican-national
fugitive returned through or in lieu of extradition
proceedings during CY-2007 (the 12th for FY-2007).
