SUBJECT: SALVADORAN GOVERNMENT AGREES WITH TEXT OF THE PROPOSED
CONVENTION ON RECIPROCAL TAX EXEMPTION OF AIRLINE CREW

In a diplomatic note dated October 2, but received over a week
later, the GOES agreed with the text of the proposed Convention on
Reciprocal Tax Exemption of Airline Crew, as transmitted in our
diplomatic note No. 346 dated June 14, 2007. Post has scanned and
e-mailed the original Spanish-language diplomatic note to
EEB/TRA/OTP and to WHA/CEN. An informal translation of the letter
from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs follows.

Begin text:

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs salutes the Honorable Embassy of the
United States of America and would like to refer to the Convention
on Reciprocal Tax Exemption of Airline Crew Project between our
governments, proposed by the Government of the United States of
America via Diplomatic Note number 346 dated June 14, 2007.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs declares its agreement with the
proposed text mentioned above and awaits the final decision of the
Government of the United States of America, to determine the
possibility of its prompt adhesion.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs takes the opportunity to reiterate
to the Honorable Embassy of the United States of America the
assurance of its highest and most distinguished consideration.
