1. (SBU) On January 6, Post received the following
diplomatic note from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
regarding the Delta/KLM code share.
Complimentary opening --
The Ministry wishes to refer to the Embassy's diplomatic note
no. 3363, dated 12/21/2006, regarding Delta Airlines' request
to operate flights under code share with KLM flights no.
440/349 operating from Amsterdam to Doha via Dammam and vice
versa in an effort to contain increasing air travel from the
U.S. to Doha.
The Ministry has the honor to inform the Embassy that the
General Authority for Civil Aviation approves this request on
an exceptional basis for King Fahad International Airport in
Dammam in light of Saudi Arabia's opens skies policy.
