1. (C) Poloff met with Czech MFA Director of the
Transformation Cooperation Unit Gabriela Dlouha to discuss
Internet access in Cuba and deliver reftel. Dlouha said that
after a year and a half of trying to get the necessary
hardware onto the island, the Czech mission in Havana has
finally succeeded in installing a satellite-based Internet
system. It will soon be available for use by local Cubans.
