1. (SBU) The Czech government will oppose the proposed UNHRC
resolution to extend the mandate of the Special Rapporteur in
the Palestinian territories. MFA Human Rights Department Head
of EU and UN Issues Jan Kaminek informed Poloff on March 23
that the Czech government will oppose the resolution because
it is "illogical," and said the EU is united in opposition to
the resolution. Nevertheless, Kaminek believes the resolution
will be approved.
