SUBJECT: NORWEGIANS LIKELY TO SUPPORT HOLOCAUST RESOLUTION
REF: STATE 99959
(U) On July 19 we delivered reftel points to MFA UN Section
Deputy Director General Jostein Leiro. He noted that Norway
has a similar resolution floating in the General Assembly,
and suspected that the Norwegians would likely support the
draft outlined in the reftel. Due to a very thin staff (most
of his section is away on holidays),he is presently unable
to consult with MFA colleagues directly responsible for this
matter. Leiro will contact us should he see any problems
with the USG's proposed resolution.
