SUBJECT: NORWEGIANS WILL CONSIDER UN REFORM POINTS

REF: STATE 31831

(SBU) On March 14 we delivered reftel points to Lars Petter
Henie, senior adviser in the MFA's UN section. The
Norwegians will review the points, which Henie believes may
already have been presented to his country's New York
delegation. The Norwegians are also carefully reviewing EU
points relating to this issue. With respect to UN reform, he
emphasized that Norway is in favor of the rule of law at the
UN (and the Secretariat) and supports adequate safeguards
regarding due process and accountability, all while ensuring
the justice system's professionalism.
