1. (SBU) Poloff delivered reftel demarche to MEA Director
(United Nations Economic and Social) Dinesh Patnaik and
Director Khalid Bin Jamal, Ministry of Commerce and
Industry on December 5, urging the GOI to help oppose any
revisions to UNCITRAL's current rules. Patnaik confirmed
that he had passed the request onto the Permanent Mission
of India to the UN, which will take the lead on deciding
the final GOI position.
