External Affairs (MEA) Joint Secretary Gaitri Kumar July 12.
Kumar, who was well aware of the excessive airspace claim due
to repeated discussions with PolOff throughout May and June
2007, indicated that the Government of India had not yet
formulated an official response to the U.S. position. Kumar
stated that she would defer to agencies of the Ministry of
Defence to resolve the issue.
