Social) T. Armstrong Changsan, who said the Government of
India (GOI) would take into consideration the USG point of
view on the candidacy of Belarus for the UN Human Rights
Council (UNHRC). The GOI was aware of the issue of the
appropriateness of countries with poor human rights records
running for the UNHRC, he said, but the GOI was not prepared
to disclose for whom it would vote in a secret ballot
election.
