(C) In separate meetings, Deputy Prime Minister for Legal
Affairs Jawad Al Arrayed and Minister of State for Foreign
Affairs Dr. Nizar Al Baharna both conveyed the news to the
Ambassador that on May 13, the Cabinet gave final approval
for draft anti-trafficking legislation to be delivered to the
parliament. The Ambassador welcomed the news and expressed
his hope for quick passage of the legislation. Al Baharna
noted, however, that there was likely insufficient time left
in the current parliamentary session to pass the legislation
before the start of the summer recess at the end of May.
