1. The "Gulf Iraqi Expo 2007" trade show, postponed from
March 2007 (reftel) has been rescheduled for November 1-3,
2007 in Manama, Bahrain at the Bahrain International
Exhibition Center. The event is being organized under the
patronage of the Bahraini Ministry of Industry and Commerce
and the Iraqi Ministry of Trade and is the first of its kind
to take place in the Gulf region. A diplomatic note from the
Iraqi Embassy in Bahrain advises that ministers and officials
will be present from several ministries including planning,
oil, trade, communication, electricity, housing,
transportation, and water. Activities include an exhibition,
a conference, and bilateral meetings run by the United
Nations Development Program in which companies from various
sectors will participate.
2. Post has advised the local AmCham regarding the new date
and requests the support of regional posts in soliciting
participation among local and US expat business entities.
