In an August 22 discussion, Emboff urged Slovenia's support 
for U.S. re-election to Part I of the International Civil 
Aviation Organization Council. Director of the Aviation 
Directorate at the Ministry of Transport, Franc Zeljko 
Zupanic, explained that the Government of Slovenia has not 
yet declared the candidates it will support for the ICAO 
Council. He added, however, that Slovenia has always 
supported the U.S. candidacy for Part I in previous 
elections. Zupanic will lead the Slovenian delegation at the 
September ICAO Assembly in Montreal. Sasa Lesnik, advisor at 
the Directorate for Civil Aviation, will also attend.
