(SBU) PolChief and Poloff delivered the trafficking in 
persons action plan for Malaysia (reftel) during separate 
meetings with officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs 
(MFA) and Ministry of Internal Security (MIS). PolChief and 
visiting EAP/MTS Director Kamala Lakhdhir presented the U.S. 
recommendations on December 18 to Ambassador Mahinder Singh, 
head of the MFA's Americas Division, and stressed the 
importance of Malaysia's actions in the coming months to 
implement the comprehensive Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act. 
On December 12, Poloff met with assistant secretaries at the 
MFA and MIS deliver the action plan. Assistant Secretary 
Azrul Izham from the MIS said he would recommend passing the 
plan to members of the new National TIP Council. Post will 
continue to disseminate the action plan to other relevant 
Malaysian government offices.
