I. SUMMARY
The Advisor participated in a regional MANPADS seminar in
Singapore, coordinated with Government of Malaysia (GOM)
officials for two upcoming EXBS courses, and attended the

II. COMPLETED ACTIONS FOR THE REPORTING PERIOD

A. SITE ASSESSMENTS AND MEETINGS DURING REPORTING PERIOD

1. The Advisor met with Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA)
officials to coordinate two upcoming EXBS courses with
Malaysia, a CIT scheduled for July 04-06 in Kuala Lumpur and
an ISIT planned for August 09-17 in Charleston, SC.


2. The Advisor attended the annual EXBS Advisors Conference
in Vienna June 19-20 and found the two days of briefings and
interactions with the program office officials and other
Advisors helpful and very informative.


B. TRAINING CONDUCTED DURING REPORTING PERIOD
June 07-08 the Advisor participated in a regional
Man-Portable Air-Defense Systems (MANPADS) Export Control
Regimes seminar in Singapore co-sponsored by the USG in
conjunction with the Governments of Singapore and Australia.
Participants from nine SE Asian countries, Australia, India,
Canada, the United Kingdom, and the US were briefed on
MANPADS proliferation trends in SE Asia and heard from
several regional countries on their efforts and successes in
controlling MANPADS. The Advisor gave a presentation on the
EXBS training and assistance program with a general overview
and specifics for SE Asia. The US and Australian delegations
explored possible ways to incorporate MANPADS training
modules into other courses of our respective export-control
programs to reach a wider audience.

D. IMMINENT TRAINING OR EQUIPMENT STATUS UPDATE


1. A Commodities Identification Training (CIT) course is
scheduled for July 04-06 in Kuala Lumpur.


2. CIT Instructor Training course is scheduled for July 24-27
in Singapore.


3. An AP CIT is planned for July 30 - August 03 in Indonesia.


4. GOM officials are scheduled to attend an ISIT August 09-17
in Charleston, SC.


5. Proliferation Awareness Training is planned for
mid-September in the Philippines.
