1. On October 26, PolOff met with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
and Foreign Trade's Director of Multilateral Affairs, Pamela
Ingelton, to deliver reftel demarche.


2. Ms. Ingleton was receptive to supporting the U.S. candidate, as
Jamaica has sought U.S. support for its candidate for category "C"
in the IMO. Poloff left talking points as a non-paper, and Ms
Ingleton promised to pass the information on to the appropriate
people in the Ministry promptly. Post will report any further
responses received on this issue.
