1. (SBU) Post delivered demarche October 23 during a meeting
with the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Charge and political
officer left copies of a dipnote with points drawn from
reftel.
2. (SBU) A new government was elected to office in Sierra
Leone in September. The new Minister of Foreign Affairs has
just been appointed and has taken up her duties this week.
The Minister previously worked in the UN system and was
pleased to receive the information presented. However, the
ministry is now in the process of reorganization and it is
not clear that our demarche here will translate into action
by the Sierra Leone delegation in New York.
