1. (U) Post received a further response from the Government of
Tajikistan concerning subject demarche. The Tajik Government
has decided to support David Walker's candidacy for the United
Nations Independent Audit Advisory Committee. Jamshed Khamidov,
Deputy Head of the Department for International Organizations at
the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, told us that he
will duly communicate the decision to Tajikistan's delegation to
the United Nations. Post has received a diplomatic note
confirming Tajik support.
