1. (U) PolOff delivered reftel demarche to Noel Kaganda,
Office of UN Affairs in the Multilateral and Legal Department
of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International
Cooperation, on October 29 to press for the Government of
Tanzania (GOT) to support David Walker's IAAC candidacy.
PolOff highlighted Mr. Walker's credentials, including his
extensive international experience.

2. (U) While Kaganda was unable to confirm which candidate
the GOT will support, he assured PolOff that he would forward
Mr. Walker's credentials and the USG request for support to
his superiors. Post will follow up with Kaganda to confirm
the GOT position before the November 2 vote.
