1. (SBU) Summary: Despite the restrictive environment created by the
ubiquitous Syrian security services, we continue to run an active
outreach program. Below is a list of events in October and
November. End Summary.

2. (SBU)

International Education week November 4-8: Consular Officers
distributed student visa information during the PD-sponsored
International Education week's open house to approximately 350
students. Our NIV Chief briefed a total of 90 students during three
sessions on student visa requirements.

Aleppo Outreach: ACS and IV Unit Chiefs provided over 50 services to
our AmCit community in Aleppo on November 5th, saving those families
the four-hour drive to Damascus.

Just for us: The Consular Section celebrated Thanksgiving together
with a double-turkey event at the Ambassador's residence on November
20th.
