On May 22, the Embassy received a letter from Minister of Commerce,
Consumer Affairs and Handicrafts Khouraichi Thiam, indicating that
he would attend the AGOA Forum along with Maimouna Savane, Director
General of the Senegalese Agency for Export Promotion (ASEPEX); Omar
Samb, Director General of Agency for the Promotion and Development
of Handicrafts (APDA); Cheikh Saadbou Seck, Director of External
Commerce and key actor in organizing the AGOA Forum in Dakar in
2005; and Moctar Diakhate, Director of Handicrafts. The Senior
Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Finance have yet to confirm their
participation and may not until after the much-anticipated cabinet
changes that are expected to follow parliamentary elections on June
3.
