1. To date, the government of Guinea still has not finalized its
full delegation list for the AU Summit in Accra, Ghana. On June 27,
Poloff spoke with Ambassador Gaussou Toure, Director of Political
and Cultural Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who
confirmed that Prime Minister Lansana Kouyate will lead Guinea's
delegation to Accra. Kouyate plans to arrive in Accra on June 30
after a visit to Morocco.
2. Toure also confirmed that Abdoul Kabele Camara, Minister of
Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, African Integration and Guineans in
the Diaspora, arrived in Accra on June 26. The Ministry of Foreign
Affairs informed us that two members of its staff are also in Accra
with Minister Camara -- Nounke Kaba, Chief of the African Union
Section, accompanied by translator from the Protocol Division.
Ambassador Toure indicated that if PDAS Thomas-Greenfield is
available, the Guinean delegation would very much like to meet with
her. Post has not yet received any contact information for the
delegation. We will report any new developments septel.
