RESOLUTIONS
REF: STATE 145641
Poloff delivered reftel demarche to Sri Lankan Ministry of
Foreign Affairs Deputy Director for UN and Multilateral
Affairs Satya Rodrigo on October 23. Rodrigo said that Sri
Lanka remains undecided on all of the UNGA Third Committee
Resolutions. He undertook to inform Poloff once any
decisions have been made. Rodrigo noted that Japan has been
encouraging Sri Lanka to support the country specific
resolution on North Korea. (Note: Given the deteriorating
human rights situation in Sri Lanka, Post considers it
unlikely that Sri Lanka would endorse any country specific
resolutions on human rights.)
