1. (SBU) Deputy Chief of Mission and Russian counterpart
Alexander Voznyuk met with MFA Director for Security and
Non-Proliferation Vilmos Hamikus August 22 to review
Hungary's participation in the Global Initiative to Combat
Nuclear Terrorism.
2. (SBU) Hamikus confirmed the GoH's decision to participate
in the initiative and expressed appreciation for the
background documents provided (including the statement of
principles, work plan, terms of reference, and explanatory
notes). He noted that the GoH would provide the contact
information requested shortly, along with its proposed
activities.
3. (SBU) The GoH's note verbale re their participation in
the initiative will be faxed to EUR/NCE.
