1. Post received a letter from the Department of Trade Defense of
the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade notifying
the Embassy that it has accepted an anti-dumping petition on exports
to Brazil of hot rolled base paper for siliconization originating
from the U.S. Original will be filed at Post.

Mr. Ambassador,

I refer to the petition presented by the company MD Papers Ltd.,
registered with DECOM (Department of Commercial Defense) on 31 of
October, 2006 related to the request for an anti-dumping
investigation, a threat of domestic industry damage and of the
causal nexus between this in the exports to Brazil of hot rolled
base paper for siliconization, classified in code 4806,40,00 of the
Common Nomenclature of Mercosul - NCM/SH, originating in the United
States and from others.


2. In accordance with article number 23 of Decree 1,602 of 1995,
after evaluating all of the information received the Department has
cause to consider the petition as justly initiated, as comtemplated
in article 19 of Decree 1,602 of 1995.
