1. We received a condolence letter from the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs addressed to the Secretary regarding the
death of former President Gerald Ford. Original will be sent
by pouch to WHA/AND.

To Her Excellency Condoleezza Rice, Secretary of State of the
United States of America.
Excellency: I have the honor of addressing your Excellency
to express on behalf of the government of Colombia and myself
a sincere message of condolence for the demise of Gerald
Ford, former president of your great nation.
We sympathize with your great loss. Please extend our
deepest sympathy to President Ford's family and to the
government and people of the United States whom he served
with great intelligence and spirit.
Reiterating my deep appreciation, I wish to offer my best
wishes and highest consideration to your Excellency.
