1. (C) Ambassador delivered reftel talking points to Minister
of Economics and Technology Michael Glos January 17. Glos
said we should do everything in our power to prevent Iran
from obtaining nuclear weapons. While he acknowledged
pressure from the German business community to distance
itself from U.S. Iran policy as it relates to trade, Glos
said Germany should stand by the side of the U.S. in this
situation.
2. Emboffs will follow up with senior level officials in
other involved ministries and report on reactions septel.
