1. (U) On July 09, 2007, poloff met with representatives of the
Serbian MFA to request Serbian support for the candidacy of
Ambassador William Lacy Swing for the position of IOM Director
General, per reftel request. Serbia is unable to give an answer at
this time, but will carefully consider Swing's candidacy. Before
deciding Serbia will wait for other nominations to be announced.
Any additional information received will be forwarded.
