information regarding latest USG sanctions October 23 to MFA
Burma, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam Division Deputy Director
Liang Jianjun and United Nations Affairs Division Deputy
Director Yao Shaojun. Liang had no substantive comment.
Yao, while not formally responding to the demarche points,
commented "personally" that the United States is adding too
many conditions to the dialogue process. Both interlocutors
promised to convey the points and information to their
superiors.
