1. (C) We recently spoke with Charn Jullamon, Director of the
Peace, Security and Disarmament division at MFA, about RTG
support for the Global Initiative to Combat Nuclear
Terrorism. Charn told us that a mid-June RTG interagency
meeting had produced a decision to recommend that the cabinet
formally support the Initiative. Charn told us the
participants at the meeting were all "very positive," and no
one opposed the Initiative. He expected the cabinet to act
on the recommendation in the coming months, with formal
endorsement coming by the year's end.
