1. (SBU) On December 6, DepPolCouns discussed reftel points
regarding UNGA votes on country-specific resolutions with MFA
D1 International Organizations Deputy Director Ambassador
Alexandros Rallis. DepPolCouns expressed appreciation to
Greece for its recent votes on the DPRK, Burma, Belarus, and
Iran resolutions, as well as its votes on the no-action
motions related to those resolutions, all of which were in
accordance with U.S. votes. He also stressed the importance
of Greece attendance and votes at the Plenary session
December 17-19 to ratify these important victories.
2. (SBU) Rallis appreciated U.S. recognition of Greece's
votes and said Greece intended to attend and support the
final Plenary approvals. Indeed, Rallis said he himself was
planning to travel to NYC to ensure Greek attendance.
