(C) MFA Head of Department for South Asia Murat Ahmet Yoruk
told us April 9 that the Turkish ambassador to Tehran did not
attend the ribbon cutting ceremony at Iran's Natanz Fuel
Enrichment Plant scheduled for April 9 (reftel). Yoruk said
the Turkish Embassy in Tehran had received a message from the
German Embassy, as EU president, advising EU members and
others to abstain from attending the ceremony. Turkey made
its decision, Yoruk stated, in line with the EU
recommendation.
