1. (C) We delivered refs a and b points to Ministry of
Foreign Affairs Bilateral Economic Relations Chief of Section
Mustafa Sarnic June 15. Sarnic reported that the Turkish
export credit agency (Turkish Eximbank) extends no credit to
the Iranian public sector. Sarnic expressed Turkish support
for U.S. objectives with regard to 1737 and 1747 and said
that Turkey was trying to comply with the letter and spirit
of the resolutions.

2. (C) Sarnic undertook to share the U.S. messages, and
request for a reply to the survey and get back to us. He was
not sure whether Turkey had a position on the appropriateness
of the OECD Export Credit Group as a forum.

3. (C) Comment: With no credits to the Iranian public sector,
and only minor (ref d),short-term commercial trade credits,
Turkey's role as a provider of export credits to Iran is
insignificant.
