(SBU) EconOffs delivered reftel demarche on seeking international
support to hold the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO)
Director General accountable for abuse of WIPO and UN rules and
regulations to Ayman al-Aamiry, Foreign Ministry Director for
International Organizations, and to Montaser Oklah, Secretary
General of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Al-Aamiry agreed on
the need for transparency and accountability in all international
organizations. He also noted that Jordan was not planning on
sending a delegation from Amman to attend the September 24 WIPO
General Assembly in Geneva.
