(C) Ambassador discussed the Iraqi Leaders Agreement on
August 27 with Bassem Awadallah, King Abdallah's office
director. As a result, Awadallah said that the King would
make a congratulatory telephone call to President Talabani
and use that as the basis for subsequent issuance of a
supportive press statement. The King is currently traveling
but post expects a call and statement August 29.
