SUBJECT: DEMARCHE DELIVERED ON CANDIDATE FOR IAAC

REF: A) STATE 149678 B) ACCRA 2272

In response to ref A request, on October 29, poloff followed
up with Paul Essel, Supervising Director of the Multilateral,
Passport and Legal Affairs office at the MFA, concerning
David Walker's candidacy for the UN Independent Audit
Advisory Committee (IAAC). Essel said the GOG is still
considering our demarche, but added that he does not see any
reason why Ghana would not support Mr. Walker's candidacy.
