1. (SBU) On May 30, Polchief discussed reftel points on
Sudan sanctions with the MFA's Supervising Director for
Africa and the African Union, Mr. C.N.A. Kotey. Kotey
replied that Ghana would have no problem supporting the U.S.
on these sanctions, adding that the Foreign Minister would
support even stronger sanctions, given the GOG's frustration
with the lack of progress in Sudan. Post subsequently sent
the relevant talking points and background information as a
diplomatic note.
