SUBJECT: INTERNET VIDEO REMIX "SHATER SHATER"

1. SUMMARY: A short (1:25) video clip showing Arab leaders as "good
students" of the United States is circulating on mobile phones and
the Internet. The clip, in the style of popular satirical videos on
the American website "Jib Jab", sarcastically depicts Arab leaders
as school children, obediently listening to American and Israeli
officials depicted as "instructors". END SUMMARY

2. A remixed video clip has been making the rounds of the Internet,
YouTube and mobile phones across the UAE, satirizing Arab leaders
as school children and "good boys", under the tutelage of their
American and Israeli "instructors". The clip takes a very popular
children's song - "Shater Shater" (Good Boy, Good Boy) by Lebanese
singer Nancy Ajram - that was originally written to teach small
children about how to be good, well-behaved children, and adds a
Jib-Jab style video remix. The new images depict Saudi King
Abdullah, Jordanian King Abdullah, Egyptian President Mubarak,
Palestininan Authority President Abbas, and Lebanese Prime Minister
Siniora as school children, seated on a bench under a blackboard
flanked by the American and Israeli flags, being tutored by
Secretary of State Rice. Images of President Bush, Vice President

SIPDIS
Cheney, and Israeli Prime Minister Olmert also appear in the clip.

3. The clip appears to have been initially posted on YouTube in
July, and at least one version of it has been viewed over 108,000
times as of last night (5 September).

4. The original lyrics of "Shater Shater" are sung responsively,
with the singer (Ajram) asking the question and the children
responding "Shater Shater" (Good Boy, Good Boy) after each line. In
summary:

Nancy Ajram: What do we call those who listen to their family?

Children: Shater Shater! (Good boy, Good Boy)

What do we call those who sit quietly? (Shater Shater)

What do we call those who succeed in school and don't trouble
teachers? We love them and call them (Shater Shater)

What do we call those who help their friends? (Shater Shater)

What do we call those who never lie? (Shater Shater)

What do we call those who don't break their toys? (Shater Shater)

What do we call those who eat and put away their clothes? We love
them and call them (Shater Shater)
