1. ACTION REQUEST: Please address the questions raised by
MOFA desk officer Hashida in Para 2.


2. ESToff delivered reftel non-paper to MOFA Arms Control
and Disarmament Division desk officer Akiko Hashida on July
27, 2006. Hashida asked whether the U.S. delegation in
Geneva had received indications of support from any other
groups besides the Western Group and whether we actively had
been enlisting the support of any other blocs. Beyond those
questions, Japan looks forward to further discussions on the
FMCT bilaterally and at the Conference on Disarmament,
according to Hashida.
