1. Post welcomed reftel A points from DC, which reinforced
discussions held with senior Dutch trade officials on WTO
Doha and trade issues earlier this month (see reftel B). As a
follow up, Econoff shared reftel A points with Tjerk Opmeer,
Dutch representative to the EU 133 Trade Committee, Ministry
of Economic Affairs and also with Taco Westerhuis, Senior
Policy Advisor, Directorate General of Foreign Economic
Relations, Ministry of Economic Affairs. Econoff asked that
reftel A points be distributed at the highest levels within
the Ministry.
2. Opmeer said that the Dutch delegation would be departing
for Geneva on June 28, and would include Trade Minister
Karien van Gennip, Director for Foreign Trade Relations
Richard van Rijssen, and Opmeer.
3. PDoff is sharing points with Dutch media contacts as
requested by reftel A.
