1. (U) Per ref. A request by Department's Office of Defense
Trade Controls Compliance (PM/DTTC),Post reviewed
documentation from the April assessment of equipment provided
under licenses 05-813909, 05-851518, and 05-921858 by Export
Control and Related Border Security Assistance (EXBS) staff.
The evaluation concluded that the Ministry of Defense, State
Customs Committee and Committee for State Border Protection
(Border Guards) of the Republic of Uzbekistan continue to
abide by the provisos and limitations of the licenses.

BORDER GUARD AND CUSTOMS ASSESSMENTS

2. (U) From April 10-14, EXBS Tashkent met with Border Guard
and Customs officials during border post visits and meetings
at the agencies, Tashkent headquarters. Thirty NVGs (Night
Vision Goggle, Generation II, PVS-7B) from the Jizzak,
Samarkand, and Tashkent Provinces were inspected and
determined to be in good working order. All serial numbers
were verified with the appropriate licenses.

ASSESSMENT AND INVENTORY OF NVDS PROVIDED TO MOD

3. (U) On April 11, a follow-up assessment was carried out on
the 36 NVDs (Aviator Night Vision Systems, ANVIS-9, Model:
F4949) previously provided to the Air Force and Air Defense
Troops of the Ministry of Defense. EXBS personnel physically
inspected all applicable equipment and serial numbers were
verified. It was confirmed that all NVDs are fully
operational with no reported damage or malfunctions.
