P/E Chief delivered reftel demarche on the Belarus anti-U.S.
resolutions to MFA State Counselor Milan Spirodonovski on
November 16. Spirodonovski agreed that the Belarus
resolutions were retaliatory in nature and was confident
Macedonia would oppose them at the UN. He had not seen yet
seen the text of the UN 3rd Committee country-specific
resolution on Belarus, and said he would need to consult with
his MFA colleagues in the Multilateral Affairs Department and
at Macedonia's UN Mission in New York before taking a
position on it. On November 20, MFA State Counselor for
Multilateral Affairs Svetlana Geleva informed P/E Chief that
Macedonia opposed and would vote against the Belarus
anti-U.S. resolutions, and would support the EU position on
the 3rd Committee country-specific resolution on Belarus.
