In response to reftel talking points, CHUA Ying Ying, Senior
Assistant Director, Ministry of Foreign Affairs ASEAN
Directorate, told us that Singapore could support including
elements of the APEC statement in an EAS statement. She
noted that the Philippines had not yet approached other ASEAN
member countries about a possible text.
