(C) On May 16, poloff delivered reftel points, which
summarized the results of the April 11-12 Proliferation
Security Initiative (PSI) Operational Experts Group (OEG)
meeting in Miami, to Director Kwon Hee-seog, Disarmament and
Nonproliferation Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and
Trade (MOFAT). On May 23, Kwon responded that the ROKG
appreciated receiving details on the meeting, particularly
the 20 questions on legal and law enforcement issues from the
various delegations, as they would help the ROKG in its
assessment of its current level of cooperation on PSI. Kwon,
acknowledging the demarche as part of the five-point
agreement between the United States and the ROK on Seoul's
cooperation in PSI activities, stated that South Korea looked
forward to continued close consultation with the United
States on PSI.
