(U) On August 7 Political Counselor Michael Murphy delivered
REFTEL demarche to Ambassador Nedzad Hadzimusic, Assistant
Minister for Multilateral Affairs at the BiH Ministry of
Foreign Affairs. Hadzimusic said BiH already supports "the
philosophy of the resolution," and thanked Murphy for
providing the draft text. He praised USG efforts to bring
about a cessation of hostilities, and expressed sympathy for
Israeli and Lebanese civilians, who were living the same
"nightmare" that Bosnians experienced during the 1992-95 war.
Hadzimusic hoped that the Israel-Lebanon conflict would not
damage efforts to resolve the Palestinian problem.
Hadzimusic promised to deliver the draft resolution to
Foreign Minister Mladen Ivanic when the Minister returns from
vacation August 14.
