COMMISSION ON HUMAN RIGHTS
On March 8, post received Ministry of Foreign Affairs
diplomatic note number DGPE-DOFPM-340416 dated March 6, from
the GOES indicating that they were announcing the candidacy
of Doctor Florentin Melendez for reelection to the
Organization of American States' Interamerican Commission on
Human Rights. The GOES seeks the support of the US
government for their candidate. Post has prepared an interim
response acknowledging the candidacy of Doctor Melendez, and
indicating that their candidacy will be evaluated in
Washington.
