(EL SALVADOR)
REF: SECSTATE 63870
On April 26, Poloff discussed reftel points with Ingrid
Zuniga, International Humanitarian Law officer at the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Zuniga indicated that the
Government of El Salvador was in the process of determining
who would represent their government at the meeting and that
they were considering sending a special delegation to Geneva
for the event. She believes that the GOES will determine the
final composition of their representation in the next few
weeks. The GOES has been a strong supporter of the inclusion
of Magen David Adom in the Red Cross/Red Crescent movement,
and they look forward to receiving the agenda of the meeting
from their delegation in Geneva.
